The Golden Mile Alliance (GMA) was officially incorporated as a non-profit organization in February 2012. The vision of GMA is to support the Route 40 area as a vibrant, diverse and accessible destination for shopping, dining, recreation and commerce in The City of Frederick.
Local Economic Impact from Key Bridge Collapse & Port Closure
It has been a little over a week since the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which carries Interstate 695 over the Patapsco River, collapsed after being struck by a cargo ship. As a major transportation & shipping route, the disaster’s impact is far-reaching — including to our Frederick community.
Frederick’s Economic Development partners have begun reaching out to local businesses affected by the disruption at the port. We will continue to provide information and resources as it becomes available.

Now, they are ready to take their work to the next level by hiring their first full-time executive director.

City Receives State Funding for Building Revitalization Projects
Earlier this week, Governor Larry Hogan announced the awardees from the Fiscal Year 2021 application round for state revitalization programs administered by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development. Among the grants announced are two awards — totaling to $225,000— for projects sponsored by The City of Frederick.
