In light of growing public trends in Frederick toward outdoor “al fresco” dining coupled with the pressures of the continuing COVID pandemic, this winter Mayor O’Connor appointed a 17 member Ad-Hoc Advisory Committee to evaluate staff recommendations for Pop Up Dining. Throughout the month of February, the Committee met to discuss and provide feedback on staff recommendations for a balanced Pop-Up Dining Program.

The final recommendations that came from the Committee’s discussion are now being drafted as proposed legislation for the Board of Aldermen to consider. It is anticipated that the proposed legislation will be brought to public workshop in April.
