As The City of Frederick and its businesses continue to safely reopen with fewer restrictions, the City is excited to announce the return of Pop-Up Dining along Market Street on select summer Saturdays.
On June 26, July 24, and August 28, Market Street will be closed to vehicles from 11AM to 11PM to allow in-the-street dining between Patrick Street and 3rd Street. Participating restaurants will place tables in the roadway to expand outdoor dining opportunities, much like the effort put in place last summer during restricted dining orders.
Since last summer, additional parklets have been placed along Market Street to offer restaurants expanded outdoor dining capacity seven days a week. The parklets will remain in place to continue that opportunity.
The Pop Up Dining program was approved by the Board of Aldermen in late Spring 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and is permissible until thirty days after the Governor’s State of Emergency ends or October 31, 2021, whichever comes first.
In addition to pop-up dining, many events are returning to the community this summer. To stay up to date with pop-up dining and other events, opt in to receive text message alerts by texting 2021EVENTS to 888777.
