On July 26, the 2018 Frederick County Best Places to Work event was held at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center in Frederick. The annual awards program is hosted through a partnership of Frederick County Workforce Services, the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, The Frederick County Office of Economic Development and the City of Frederick's Department of Economic Development to celebrate the positive impact local businesses make in the lives of their employees.

In the competitive award, nominations are scored based on the employers' work-life balance, median salary, turnover rate, benefits, diversity, and professional growth opportunities.

This year, two City businesses -  Immersion Active  and FoodPRO - received top honors in their respective categories.

The honor came in recognition of their outstanding commitment to work/life balance -- which includes unlimited paid time off.

FoodPRO - a wholesale restaurant supplier and food-service distributor located in East Frederick - took the top prize in the Large Employer category. The award highlighted the company's unique open door policy, which goes all the way to the top mangagment. At the end of each year, every employee of FoodPRO is scheduled to meet with the company's president to discuss & share any concerns, successes, goals and ideas.
