FDK Soliciting Proposals for Corporate Hangar Development

Looking for a strategic location to base your aircraft?

Late last month, the City of Frederick issued a RFP formally soliciting bids for the land lease and development of a corporate hangar site at Frederick Municipal Airport (FDK).

Located at the intersection of Interstates I-70 and I-270, FDK rests less than an hour from both Baltimore and Washington, D.C., and mere minutes from Downtown Frederick. The strategic position of the full-service reliever airport offers easy access to three powerful economic hubs, while capturing low fueling & service costs and remaining outside the entanglements of the D.C. Special Flight Rules Areas. These competitive advantages have already attracted over 350 businesses to FDK on an annual basis. By 2020, the airport’s runway length will be increased to 5820’, allowing the facility to fully support larger executive jets.

The recently released RFP offers a business the opportunity to base aircraft in a privately-constructed hangar on this well-positioned and rapidly developing facility.

Submissions must be received by April 27, 2018, 3 PM.
