Tech and Cyber Organizations Partner to assist Frederick Business

Two area organizations – the Maryland Tech Council and Cybersecurity Association of Maryland, Inc. - are on a mission to connect area technology and cybersecurity firms in Frederick.

Maryland Tech Council (MTC)

The Maryland Tech Council (MTC) is a technology and life sciences trade association with over 500 members.  What you might not know is that the MTC offers a local opportunity to connect each week!  The Maryland Tech Council holds weekly office hours in the City of Frederick at 118 N. Market St., room 327 on Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

 MTC offers its members the opportunity to meet with staff one on one to provide a forum to learn, share, and connect.

MTC supports its member companies by offering discount services, advocacy programs, and educational and networking events. For incubator companies, MTC has a mentoring program modeled after MIT matching mentors with start-up businesses to assist them in becoming successful operating companies.  The City of Frederick’s Department of Economic Development is a key supporter of the Maryland Tech Council.  MTC hosts over 40 events annual including the BIO+TECH Conference which will take place at Baltimore Hilton on September 26-27, 2018. Cybersecurity Association of Maryland, Inc. (CAMI)

The Cybersecurity Association of Maryland, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that assists Maryland cybersecurity product and service companies by connecting those companies to businesses, government entities, nonprofit organizations and academic institutions seeking cybersecurity solutions.  The organization hosts a statewide online directory of hundreds of cybersecurity providers and there is no fee to be listed in CAMI’s searchable online Cybersecurity Company Directory.

CAMI hosts 30 events and programs each year for its members.  In September, CAMI hosted a networking event in Downtown Frederick at Serendipity Market that was attended by cybersecurity professionals from around the DC Metro area. Smith added, “Maryland is home to some of the world's most innovative and skilled cybersecurity providers and professionals. CAMI identifies these companies and individuals and connects them, online and in person, with businesses to help keep them cyber secure.
